Is there a travel charge for moves outside Waterloo?
Local moves inside Waterloo Region are quoted as crew hours plus a stated travel allowance, and that is written down before you book. For St. Jacobs, Elmira and the townships the travel allowance is a little higher and is shown on the quote, not added afterwards. Short hauls to Guelph or the GTA are quoted the same way with the drive time included.
What is different about a move in St. Jacobs or Elmira?
Mostly the houses. Older village homes with narrow staircases and small doors, farm properties with long laneways a large truck may not fit down, and gravel or unpaved parking in spring. The crew asks about the laneway and the access before choosing which truck to send.
